As we continue to expand our impact, we seek a talented, hands-on Accounting Supervisor to oversee and strengthen our financial operations. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled accounting professional who thrives in a mission-driven environment and wants to make a tangible difference in the Oakland community.
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly capable Accounting Supervisor to serve as the sole financial professional managing the day-to-day accounting operations at BGCO. Key Responsibilities:
• Manage all core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger management, and reconciliations. • Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. • Monitor cash flow, ensure timely payments, and manage organizational budgets. • Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with organizational policies and best practices. • Lead the preparation for annual audits and coordinate the submission of all required tax filings (e.g., Form 990). • Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, grant reporting requirements, and all federal, state, and local regulations and tax laws. • Audit Payroll data. • Partner with executive leadership to support financial planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. • Maintain professional relationships with banks, auditors, vendors, and other external partners. • Assist in preparing clear, concise financial reports for the Board of Directors and other stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:

Salary Negotiable.
Preferred Qualifications:
• CPA certification or equivalent is highly desirable. • Experience managing grant funding, restricted donations, and complex reporting requirements. • Familiarity with nonprofit audit processes and government compliance standards. • Previous experience in a small or mid-sized nonprofit environment is a plus.
Why Join BGCO?
